Overview

Sally Moore

20 November - 20 December, 2026

Running alongside our Winter Exhibition this year we are delighted to be featuring an exhbition of new work by Sally Moore.

Born in 1962, Sally grew up in Barry, near Cardiff, and studied at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford, and Birmingham College of Art. Following a prestigious Delfina residency, she moved to London, where she continues to live and work. Her numerous accolades include the Discerning Eye, Welsh Artist of the Year and the Abbey Scholarship at the British School at Rome.

In this new body of work, references to Hans Holbein and Domenico Ghirlandaio provide a starting point for intriguing and imaginative worlds populated by dreamscapes, animals and allusive narratives that make for Sally Moore’s distinctive and incredibly skilful visual language. Her responses to the curiosities of renaissance portraiture are a source of introspection and exploration of the self.

Sally’s intriguing collection of new paintings is a must-see highlight of our constantly changing Winter Exhibition, showcasing work by all our gallery artists.
