Overview

Sarah Thwaites was born in London in 1959 and studied at Wimbledon School of Art and Goldsmith's College.  She now lives in Abergavenny.

Her atmospheric works are inspired by her local landscape. She works in her studio from memory, occasionally prompted by photographs taken and notes written whilst immersed in the landscape. Her work is primarily an emotional response to her surroundings and the seasons.

Sarah has exhibited widely in Wales, in both group and solo shows and  her work can be found in numerous public and private collection including the National Museum and Galleries of Wales.
