To date, the IMPACT sculptures
have all been of personal significance to the artist, but as more friends and
acquaintances send Angharad their own
examples, the narratives are broadening. Impact
no 10
was sent by photographer Rhodri Davies, with the exact location
described as ‘Half Way Between Lloyd
George and Jan Morris’s House ‘
. Angharad felt that this location was such
a coincidental pivot between two greats of Welsh History that she visited the
site in Pen-Llýn, rather like a Forensic
investigator or archaeologist, to take exact measurements of the twisted gate.
Gates literally open or close connections between two places and this one has
been modified several times by its original owner/creator, with whole sections
cut or added on. The title remains the very first description of its location
and 2026 is the centenary of Jan Morris’s birth. / Hyd
yma, roedd pob un o gerfluniau Ardrawiad
yr artist yn arwyddocaol iddi hi’n
bersonol ond wrth i fwy o ffrindiau ddechrau danfon eu henghreifftiau eu hunain at
Angharad, mae'r naratif yn ehangu. Anfonwyd Ardrawiad rhif 10 gan y ffotograffydd Rhodri Davies, gyda'r
lleoliad wedi'i ddisgrifio fel 'Hanner
ffordd rhwng tŷ Lloyd George a thŷ Jan Morris'
. Teimlai Angharad fod y
lleoliad hwn yn bwynt cyswllt rhyfeddol rhwng dau o gewri hanes Cymru, felly
ymwelodd â'r safle ym Mhen Llŷn – yn debyg i ymchwilydd fforensig neu
archeolegydd – i gymryd mesuriadau manwl gywir o'r giât sydd wedi'i phlygu. Mae
giatiau gyda’r gallu, yn llythrennol, i agor neu gau cysylltiad rhwng dau le,
ac mae'r un hon wedi'i haddasu sawl gwaith gan ei pherchennog/gwneuthurwr
gwreiddiol, gyda rhannau cyfan wedi cael eu hychwanegu a rhai eraill wedi torri
i ffwrdd. Y teitl yw disgrifiad cyntaf Rhodri o'i lleoliad, a 2026 yw can mlwyddiant
geni Jan Morris.
